TORREON, Mexico - Julio Gomez scored two goals, including a bicycle kick winner in the 90th minute, to give Mexico a 3-2 victory over Germany on Thursday and chance at a second U-17 World Cup title in six years.
Mexico advances to Sunday's final against Uruguay, which beat Brazil 3-0 earlier Thursday, at Azteca Stadium and a chance to repeat its 2005 glory when it won the crown in Peru.

Gomez, who gave Mexico the lead in the third minute, had to leave the field for about eight minutes to close a wound suffered in a clash of heads. He returned with wraparound white bandage, and delighted the crowd when -- with his back to goal -- volleyed Jorge Espericueta's corner with an overhead scissors kick after it was flicked on to the back post by Marcelo Gracia.
It was only the second time in six games that Mexico had allowed more than a goal at the U-17 World Cup, beating a team that had outscored its opponents 17-3 in its previous five games.
Mexico went ahead in the third minute, with Gomez heading Jorge Espericueta's cross virtually unmarked at the penalty spot. The ball was directed low and German keeper Odisseas Vlachodimos appeared not to react, standing flat-footed on his line.
But Germany equalized seven minutes later when Emre Can dribbled half the length of the field and sent a ball to Samed Yesil at the top of the box that Antonio Briseno intercepted. But Briseno was immediately stripped of the ball by Yesil, who sent a low, rolling shot past Mexican keeper Richard Sanchez.
Mexico had almost twice the amount of possession as Germany but it was the Europeans who went ahead in the 60th, with Can taking the ball 40 meters from goal and dribbling past Carlos Guzman and Briseno, and then holding off Kevin Escamilla before shooting low past Sanchez from near the penalty spot.
Mexico equalized on Espericueta's corner kick in the 76th minute. With Gomez leaping high at the back post, Espericueta's left-footed, inswinging corner curled over the crowd in front and banged in off the inside of the far upright.
